RCD Testing Sydney | Safety Switch Compliance by AGE Electrical Testing Services
AGE tests residual current devices, also called safety switches, for Sydney workplaces. Fixed RCDs on a board and portable RCDs are different devices, and the visit tests the device that is there. A push-button check and a measured trip-time test are separate checks. Either check can open the RCD and interrupt the circuit it protects. The record shows behaviour under the test conditions. It is not a compliance certificate, and it does not show how the device will behave later. Where in-service inspection practice applies, the checks follow AS/NZS 3760. That standard is not, by itself, a legal duty, and it is not a certification of AGE. Work outside Sydney is covered on the national RCD and safety switch testing page.
An ordinary circuit breaker is not an RCD. The breaker responds to overload on the wiring. The RCD responds to an imbalance in current. Calling every breaker a safety switch is not accurate, and this visit does not treat them as the same device.

The result is recorded and the device is identified. Repair or replacement is separate electrical work unless it has been arranged separately. Nothing on this page promises a same-day replacement or a certificate.
