Test and tag involves inspecting and electrically testing portable appliances in accordance with AS/NZS 3760. Each item is fitted with a durable tag showing the test date, technician, and next due date. This process helps prevent electrical hazards and ensures workplace compliance.
Testing intervals depend on the equipment, how it is used and its operating environment. As a general guide, portable equipment on construction and demolition sites is tested every 3 months; equipment in manufacturing and workshop environments typically every 6 months; equipment exposed to damage, frequent flexing or other hostile conditions may require testing every 12 months or sooner; and low-risk office equipment may have intervals of up to 5 years. The appropriate schedule depends on the applicable standards, workplace conditions and risk assessment. We’ll recommend a suitable testing schedule for your workplace.

We test and tag a wide range of portable electrical appliances, including power tools, office equipment (computers, printers), kitchen appliances (kettles, microwaves), and extension leads. RCD (safety switch) testing is a separate service. We also offer thermal imaging of electrical switchboards as part of our services.
Absolutely. After every visit, we issue a detailed digital report and asset register showing each item tested, the results, and the next due date. These records help you meet your workplace health and safety obligations. Our test and tag reports follow AS/NZS 3760.
